Volunteer
One of the most important parts of a student’s classroom experience at MFC Study Support is the relationship that they build with our mentors. Our mentors work closely with young people throughout their time with us, helping them in their learning and becoming a positive and aspirational role model.
Why volunteer?
“all of our mentors receive training from our expert staff”
There are many good reasons to volunteer, here’s just a few…
- try out new types of work
- make a difference to people’s lives in your community
- get experience that looks good on your CV
- learn new skills that could lead to a new job
- get training and qualifications
- get references to use in job applications
- meet new people
- get satisfaction from doing something useful
What training will I receive?
Our students work with various specialist software on both PC and Mac machines and all of our mentors receive training from our expert staff to help them support the young people they’re working with.
What accreditation/qualifications can I get?
School & college groups can take part in an ASDAN Community Volunteering Qualification which recognises and accredits voluntary and community activities.
All of our mentors can qualify for vInspired Awards. These awards recognise the time you commit, the skills you develop and the difference you make through your volunteering.
Who can volunteer?
Anyone can! Whether you’re young or old, at the start or the end of your career, working or not working. No matter what your skills or experience, we will value your help.
